With a newly updated wine list, this month at Urbane we focus on Bordeaux and Burgundy wines. Although it has taken a little while to source some of these gems, we’ve managed to get hold of some serious back vintages from boutique producers like the 2000 and 1999 Dugat-Py Gevrey chambertin PC, 1996 Armand Roussau Gevrey Chambertin GC, 1995 Chateau Cheval Blanc PCC, just to name a few.
For those of you not familiar with Dugat-Py, it is one of my favourite producers in Burgundy, which started in Gevrey-Chambertin in the 17th century and was passed down through 13 generations in the Dugat family. With only 1200 bottles made every year, and aged in 100% new oak for 16 to 18 months, we are excited to be able to offer our patrons this awesome drop. The estate has been 100% organic from day one – a truly magnificent example of burgundy at its best!
We are also working on new wine lists for The Euro and The Laneway wine list for next month, which will have a focus on alternative grape varieties offered by the glass, such as Vermentino, Corvina, Rondinella, Savagnin and Gruner Veltliner.
