The next wine appreciation class is being held on Tuesday 10 May 2011, and champagne and riesling is the topic of choice. Our in-house sommelier Ramon, will be hosting the class between 6pm and 8pm at a cost of $50 per person (for up to 20 people).

Chardonnay Masterclass Wine Dinner

Our second Masterclass dinner, hosted by our own sommelier, is being held on Monday 30 May 2011 at 6pm.

Join James Hall, general manager of Brothers in Arms, as he hosts the 2007 new release of the Brothers in Arms Cabernet Sauvignon at Urbane on Wednesday 18 May 2011.

Officially recorded as the oldest cabernet sauvignon vines in the world since 1891, this wine event is set to impress. Commencing at 6.30pm and at a cost of $140 per person, tickets to this event are strictly limited so get in early to avoid disappointment. Masterclass wine dinner menu now finalised

The menu for the Masterclass Wine Dinner being held in Sub-Urbane next Wednesday April 20 at 6pm has now been finalised. Guests will enjoy five courses matched to four different brackets of four different types of rieslings (12 in total) by our sommelier. Guests will be walked through each of the wines so they can gain a deeper appreciation of riesling. At a cost of $220 per person, contact us today to secure your reservation.

Wine Appreciation Classes in Sub-Urbane

Commencing on the 12th of April and running on the second Tuesday of every month, our in-house sommelier will be hosting a series of wine appreciation classes from 6pm – 8pm in Sub-Urbane at $50 per person (for up to 20 people).

The first class will be on the topic of “How to taste wine”, which will include sampling wines from across the globe, with our sommelier showcasing the difference in grape varieties, flavour profile, style and climate influence.

Participants will be given the basic instruments to analyse and criticise wine, thus educating their palate and enhancing their appreciation for wine.

Customers will also be encouraged to put forth their own suggestions for future classes, and each month he will decide on a topic and announce the upcoming class.
