Wine dinner with James Erksine (Jauma) – May 16, 2012

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Trained cook, award winning sommelier, educator, wine maker and soil scientist, it seems there is nothing that James Erskine can’t do.

In 2008, James was voted Gourmet Traveller Australian Sommelier of the Year, topped the Australian-International Court of Master Sommeliers exams and awarded one of Australia’s most sought-after wine industry prizes, the Negociants Working With Wine Fellowship. James is a Len Evans scholar, founder of the South Australian chapter of the National Sommeliers Association and has worked as a teacher at the International College of Hotel Management. Between vintages and restaurant hours James completed an Honours Degree in Agricultural Science – soil chemistry.

It was in 2009 when James decided to push the boundaries and turn winemaker. Join him at Urbane at 7pm on May 16 as he navigates you through a special evening featuring his celebrated label Jauma. Matched with an exquisite five course menu, James will impress with wines that bend all the rules. ($160pp)
