The Laneway Christmas Eggnog

Ingredients

50ml Martell VSOP (or other cognac)
10ml Cherry Heering (Cherry Brandy Liqueur)
5ml of Date and Apricot Kernel infused sugar syrup*
1 pinch of cinnamon sugar
1 dash of Angostura Bitters
1 egg yolk
90ml of roast almond infused milk**

Method

Shake all ingredients and strain over ice, garnish with a light nutmeg dusting and a 1/2 orange wheel and brandied cherry on a skewer.

*Date and Apricot Kernel infused sugar syrup
Steep 3:1 dates and kernels and 1:1 sugar and water  until desired flavour is reached.

**Roast almond infused milk
Roast 250g of almonds and drop into saucepan with 1 litre of full cream milk, bring to 80 degrees celcius and remove from saucepan and cover, refrigerate with almonds over night and strain.
